The video above demonstrates two simple traps: the press/slap (pak sao) and punch and the pull (lop sao) and punch. Although the term "punch" is used, the strike could be a punch, palm strike, chop, eye strike, elbow, etc. These two simple traps work very well in self defense, against empty hand, stick, knife, and gun threats, and also against some fighting styles while the "fight" is in progress. In the video you'll see the problem that many people have in applying these traps, at the wrong time, and how to add boxing techniques and principles to make your trapping more effective.
