Biu Sao and Punch
The biu sao (which I call an "outward block") with a simultaneous punch or palm is a great technique against a wide hook, as you can see in the images above. To form a proper biu sao your elbow should be bent as it is with the bong sao (only your elbow will be down rather than up), leading to a very solid structure. When your opponent's hook crashes in to your biu sao he should feel like just punched into the corner of a wall.
