Boxing Training Drill
The following images detail a prearranged training drill we use in Hertao. It works very well as a transition between single techniques and sparring for beginners, and as a warm up to focus on good form for more advanced practitioners. It can be done at any level of intensity from slow and relaxed to full speed and power.
1. Shorts steps in throwing a jab at Pants, and Pants steps back using a catch for defense.

2. Pants steps in and throws a jab, cross combination at Shorts. Shorts uses a catch, cover to defend.

3. Shorts throws a cross, hook at Pants. Pants sidesteps and parries the cross, and covers the hook.

4. Pants throws a left hook, right hook at Shorts. Shorts covers both hooks.

5. Shorts throws a low jab, high cross at Pants. Pants uses a low cover, shoulder roll to defend.

6. Pants throws a high cross, high jab, low jab at Shorts. Shorts shoulder rolls, catches, and low covers.

7. Shorts throws a jab, lead hook at Pants. Pants catches and covers.
